[MISC] Can we discuss the Poison spell?
12:58 PMHey everyone, I've been thinking about the Poison spell a lot lately, specifically how I kinda hate what it's done to the whole Clan Castle portion of the game on.
There has definitely been a negative impact on "fun" for me in the farming/resource protection side of the game. Normally when I head to bed for the night I get my castle filled with some combination of archers and wizards. Now, when I wake up and check my defensive replay the attacker just drops a poison on my CC and my troops are useless. I'm starting to feel like I shouldn't even bother requesting defensive CC troops because any competent attacker will Poison them and in my clan I can't count on getting a dragon donated to me whenever I want. Sure, it's nice on offense because I can do the same to the enemy, but I'd rather have to strategize around dealing with a CC and be able to foil attacks on my base with my own CC than just have it be irrelevant and easy to deal with.
From a warring perspective, the Poison spell severely limits what troops are effective in a defensive Clan Castle. Wizards, loons, witches, and even valks are almost useless now. It seems like the only reasonable option is a dragon or lava hound, which to me is disappointing because it takes away from a lot of the strategy/surprise of a war Clan Castle. I guess my issue is that it makes attacking too easy, and reduces the choice and variability you have in choosing defensive CC troops, which is less fun.
Basically, I feel like the Poison spell went to far in negating the effectiveness of a clan castle, and made that part of the game too easy and simple for my liking. I obviously love this game, but I think the Poison spell made it slightly less fun for me. What are your guys' thoughts? How has it impacted you from a farming standpoint? War? Have you found it better or worse? More fun, or less?
