[HWYA] How to Farm against Infernos?

12:23 PM

Let's talk about the worst farming dead zone in all of CoC: high-end TH10+

I have played the game for two years and never bought any gems. 100% pure farming. As of the Update That Must Not Be Named, I had max TH10 defenses, heroes about level 25, almost all of my research done, and level 10 walls. I live to war, and can two-star most any TH10. When the update dropped, I had maxed storages and immediately launched the TH11 upgrade, but since I don't gem I had to wait two weeks for it to complete.

As you all know, life has been a living hell ever since. My farming profit fell to almost nothing, and at one point I almost missed a war attack for lack of elixir and getting PBRd offline every five minutes.

But since my town hall upgrade completed, things are worse. I didn't have 6M elixir to build a warden with, and I've fallen further away since. I was in Champion 3, hoping the loot bonus could make farming profitable, but there's simply no way. The reason is simple: with my TH level, the only targets I am presented with that have any loot at all always have two upgraded multi-infernos.

And that's the topic here. How is it possible to profit from an attack against a base with multi-infernos? If we are to believe that farming is simply harder (as SuperCell's trolls tell us) and not completely dead, then there has to be a way, because my base is not rushed, and these multi-inferno targets are the only ones I ever see anywhere from Gold to Champions. Throw in the fact that I do get attacked a few times a day, and even though my defense ALWAYS WINS (I never even get a shield) and the attackers are always losing more than I am (building expensive armies and getting small loot and no bonus), MY losses are still enough to wipe out my collector income.

In short, either there has to be a way to profitably farm multi-inferno bases OR the game literally consists of nothing but gemming. Hey, SuperCell, if you thought putting THs outside was a cheap way to play, how about just BUYING everything instead of earning it?

So let's open this up. Does ANYBODY have ANY idea how one might attack a max-upgraded full-storages TH10 base in a way that earns more elixir and DE than you spend on the army? Keep in mind that you must be able to do this with level 20-25 heroes - if you have level 40 there's no reason to farm!

This could mean one of three things: 1. Three-star the bugger, taking 400K elixir and 3K DE, plus a victory bonus. Army must cost less than 500K elixir + 4K DE to make any profit at all. 2. Two-star attack, most of the storages destroyed, not a full victory bonus. Army must cost less than 300K elixir and 1.5K DE. 3. Snipe at low trophy levels. Just get a couple of tanks with a super-cheap army. Lose trophies, but get them back defensively. Don't care about victory bonus.

I've found than any variation of barch, gibarch, or loonion gets so badly fried by multi-infernos that it collects under 100K elixir and often no DE at all. Money-loser. My war strategies (mass golems, mass witches, mass dragon/hound) all cost more than I could hope to earn. Is there ANY middle ground that I'm not seeing?

Anyone?

After days of experimentation I have concluded that my best path is to drop under 1000 trophies and use goblins, etc with tri-hero to hunt for elixir, and to make DE only with drills. This is... the opposite of fun. And takes no skill.

Of course we know SuperCell's real answer: the only way to max TH11 should be to give them a thousand dollars in cash. Literally. That's what it would take. Or several thousand.

Ok, I've talked enough. Comments!
