[MISC] Problems with high end loot demonstrated w/ evidence

I used to be in a serious top-end level 9 war clan before taking a break. I've also been pretty vocal about how bad the update is and wanted to share my experience with evidence. I was a max TH10 (excluding walls which are ~60% lvl 10) that went up to TH11 and pushed to Champs 3 - 2. It is next to impossible to save 6 mil elixir for the warden and labratory (ended up spending old gems to fund the gap).

  • Focusing on elixir as that is the most difficult resource since the update, as SuperCell is trying to force people to use big 2 hour build time armies that cost a ton.

  • Farming Elixir up to 3 million: Fairly standard, although slow and boring considering the full army build time of 2 hours with king / queen. No more 2 hour power boost sessions of attacking (which was actually fun).

  • Farming Elixir 3 million - 4.5 million: Extremely slow and painful, but achievable.

  • Farming 4.5+ million: Next to impossible. You Stagnate, I sat here for a week. You get raided for 400k and have difficulty finding raids for 300k, your army to be successful costs between 200k - 300k.

DEFENSE SUMMARY

Here's an overview of my defense log from when I reached the 4.0 - 4.5 million elixir mark (before I spent old gems to fund the gap to reach 6 mil for warden). I've tested various base designs, even using successful ones from clan wars (i.e. modified dragonflower) with little to no change in outcome. You simply will get rolled by someone with the right army comp.

OFFENSE SUMMARY I don't have my old attacks still viewable, but I've tweaked my army comp to just focus on elixir and try to maximize it. This helps. Originally I was doing a "light" version of GoWiPe which was safe and consistent but the army cost negated almost all gains. I've since switched to a heavy DE golem / witch army in order to try and save elixir. Typically I search for 5-10 minutes in Champs 3 / 2. Also, my attacks in the screenshot are every 1 hour because I was boosting barracks, spells and heroes.

  • Army Cost (GoWiPe + 2 Rage / 1 Freeze): 316,500 elixir

  • Army Cost (4 Golem, 4 Witch, 12 Wiz, 12 WBs + 2 Freeze / 1 Rage): 193,000 elixir

  • Total Gain: 854,083 elixir + ~520,000 loot bonus = 1,374,083 elixir

  • Avg Gain: 284,694 elixir + ~173,000 loot bonus = 457,694 elixir

  • Net Gain (GoWiPe): 141,194 elixir per ~2 hour army

  • Net Gain (4GoWiWi): 264,694 elixir per ~2 hour army

HOW DO I BREAK EVEN??? You get attacked and lose 314,867 elixir, you attack and depending on army gain 141,194 elixir to 264,694 elixir per 2 hour army. This roughly means...

  • GoWiPe: 2.3 attacks to break even (~4.6 hours of build time)

  • 4GoWiWi: 1.2 attacks to break even (~2.4 hours of build time)

Edit: It's even worse when you consider going to bed with a shield after getting attacked, sleep through most of it, then get attacked again in the morning after only being able to do 1 attack. Essentially you get attacked 2x and usually are only able to attack once, which puts you in an even bigger hole.
