GungHo Online Entertainment and its parent company SoftBank are Japanese companies that are the majority shareholders of Supercell, owning about 75% of the company. As someone who lives in the Far East, I can tell you that the Japanese are extremely prideful people, and a movement against the changes to perhaps the most popular game ever will not fall on deaf ears.

It's clear that the majority of people dislike the latest update, and for many the game is no longer worth playing. Also, all signs seem to point towards an impending crash in the economy, worse than it already is.

I suggest a petition be formed directed at GungHo and SoftBank, and in the meantime reach out with your complaints to them.

These companies control Supercell. If you want change, this is the way it will be achieved. Not by messaging Supercell in-game, complaining on Supercell's message board, or by giving the game 1-star reviews in the app store. GO STRAIGHT TO THEIR BOSSES.
